Storm Water
To help curb the problem of storm water runoff pollution to rivers, streams, and waterways of America, the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) has developed a program under the Clean Water Act. A major part of this program is the NPDES (National Pollution Discharge Elimination System) which requires industrial activities to register for a discharge permit.
Many industrial activities can apply under a general permit. Ad Hoc Monitoring Reports and an Annual Stormwater Report are established requirement of the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). This report is due on or before July 15th of each reporting year.
The Storm Water Annual Report must summarize all activities and findings relating to the SWPPP and Monitoring Program.
- Conduct monthly visual inspections of discharged areas
- Conduct annual site inspection and certify site was in compliance with Permit and SWPPP
- Maintain written reports of all inspections, findings, follow up activities taken in response to inspection findings, and analytical results
- Maintain written documentation explaining why sampling activities could not be conducted
Submit Annual Report along with Ad Hoc Monitoring to the Regional Board by July 15th. The report must summarize all activities and findings relating to the SWPPP and Monitoring Program
